CZIB for Middle East and Persian Gulf
18 March 2026
The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has revised its Conflict Zone Information Bulletin (CZIB) for the Middle East and Persian Gulf, reflecting escalating risks linked to the ongoing Gulf conflict.
In its latest update, valid until March 27, 2026, EASA continues to advise operators to avoid flying in the airspace of several countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Qatar, citing heightened threats from military activity and missile and drone operations.
The revision introduces a more nuanced risk assessment, particularly for Saudi Arabia and Oman, where limited operations may be permitted above flight level 320 under strict monitoring and risk evaluation requirements.
Officials said the adjustment reflects “observed conflict dynamics,” including shifting patterns of retaliatory strikes and evolving air defence threats across the region.
The updated CZIB underscores continued uncertainty for aviation, with regulators warning that risks such as misidentification, interception, and spill-over effects remain significant.
